  • At the end of this course, participants are able to safely and competently carry out the watch keeping duties on board merchant ships both at sea and in port. They will be conversant with the basic principles as per STCW Regulations VIII/2 & STCW Code Chapter VIII.

  • This course approved by Thai Marine Department runs for three months of pre-sea which includes dockyard attachment. The trainees also get the following additional certificates

Graduate Engineers Conversion Course, UK

  • This course allows the Graduates in Mechanical Engineering from Visvesveraya Technology University, Belgaum or Jawaharlal Nehru Technology University, Hyderabad or Punjab Technical University, Punjab or Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow or Uttarakhand Technical University, Dehradun or Calicut Technical University, Calicut . They will be conversant with the basic principles as per STCW Regulations VIII/2 & STCW Code Chapter VIII.

The course is conducted over 3 stages, as
follows:

  • STAGE 1: Pre Sea and MNTB Workshop Skills 5 Months duration, conducted at institute in Bangkok, Thailand
  • STAGE 2: Shipboard Training & Monitoring                  (STM) 6-months sea going training                  on board merchant ships.
                     The Trainees to undertake                  watchkeepnig duties and complete                  MNTB Training and record book.
  • Stage 3 : Final preparation and Exam at
                     Warsash Maritime Academy, UK

Graduate Engineers Conversion Course, FIJI

Bridging Course Rating to Officer

  • The Bridging course is conducted jointly by BIMS and Fiji Institue of Technology for ratings who choose to become a merchant navy officer in the future.

    From aforementioned, the participant who would like to join for the said course “must” already have sea experience at least 24 months as AB (Able Seaman)

The program is as follows

    • Phase 1             :  2 months at BIMS/Bangkok
    • Phase 2 (COC3)   :  6 months at Fiji
  • After graduation you will recieve a CoC 3 certificate, endorsed by the Fiji Maritime authority and a Diploma in Nautical Science.
